The 'Zoom to Selected' button will be enabled as soon as points or contours are selected. Pressing this button will zoom into the current selection. When you press the 'Fit to Window' button, the glyph will be shown with the largest zoom factor. In this window, you'll also see an ascender and a descender limiting line, which enables you to keep the lowercase letters and uppercase letters standardized.
The user interface is very intuitive. The toolbars give you a one-click access to many of the commands on the menus. Some menu items have toolbar icons next to them so that you can quickly associate the command with that icon.
